Daniel Metlay

Daniel Metlay is a senior staff member of the U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, an independent federal government agency, established to oversee the technical work done by the Department of Energy to implement the Nuclear Waste Policy Act. He holds a B.S. in molecular biology and medieval history from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to coming to the Board, Dr. Metlay worked for two Secretaries of Energy, was a research scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and taught at Indiana University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is the author of numerous articles and government publications.
